About Rylynn Riojas

The story revolves around our little miracle Rylynn and her broken heart. Rylynn is the daughter of Gilly Riojas and Andrea Martinka Riojas.  She was born on May 1, 2009 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) – only ½ of a normal heart. She has endured three open heart surgeries and has surpassed all of our expectations.  However, the doctors at the Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas have now recommended that she needs a life-saving heart transplant.  She is currently at the Children’s Medical Center in Dallas and will remain there on an artificial heart device while she waits for that special Angel heart.

Update:  Rylynn received her heart transplant on October 6th!  :)  Read the blog for updates from Mom and Dad!

With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure.  The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-needy patients. In Texas, volunteers are raising funds for transplant patients like local toddler, Rylynn Riojas.  Our goal is to raise $75,000. We can do it with your help!
